clean up on Aisle Four runner

I had a can of fix-a-flat (small can for bikes) explode during a hot day last week in the passengerseat of my 4runner. it left a milkywhite splooge residue all over my windshiled and was left to bake in the sun without my knowing for a day. i tried to get it off the other day and found that it is hard to get remove.
I have tried water, rubbing alcohol, and windshield cleaner, none of while do much.
If anyone knows of a solvent to remove this stuff , i would greatly appriciate it.

Call the manufacture and file a complaint. Tell them what happened and let them know that you want THEM to pay for all cost in cleaning your vehicle. It won't hurt to try.

Year ago I was using a tube of silicone sealer. I was squeezing on the tube and the end of the tube blew out, squirting out a huge blog all over my brand new carpet.

I immediately called the 800 phone number listed on the tube to ask what to do to clean it up. They told me nothing would clean it completely and they said (with out me even asking) to get an estimate to replace the carpet and they would pay for it.

I took a papertowel and picked up the blob then ran it over the area where it spilled. I never even replaced the carpet as it came right up.

Sorry for the long story but my point is, the manufacture will probably pay for cleaning. Take it to a professional.

A razor blade could work on the front windshield.

I agree with frankjake. Call them and compain.

A few years ago, my brother was using a can of fix-a-flat on his Fiero. The can exploded and got all over his paint. He called fix-a-flat and they paid for a new paint job.

no, the bottle did say "do not leave in direct sunlight." i thought i brought it in after i bought it , but it was in a bag in the floor. it was my fault. i did try and contact them just to see what would put into solution with no reply. i think goof-off will work. i am going to run to the store and try it tonight. thanks for the input

Why should the manufacturer pay for your lack of common sense? I see no reason they should pay for your mess.

Sorry for the mess but I have to agree with Glenn. I bet there is a warning on the can about temperature ranges. With that said I am gonna make sure my can is in a rubber maid box when I go wheeling.

Nasty stuff, my son left a can he used in the back of my runner, opened the rear door 2 days later and "Yikes". GoofOff worked on everything including the carpet, well sort of. It came out of the carpet but the flatfix turned the carpet white. Luckily the rear carpet over the carpet is removable, no worries.

I agree that there is probably a warning about temperatures, however, I wouldn't be surprised if they still paid for it. All they can say is no right? Often times a company is so concerned with PR that they are willing to pay the tiny amount (tiny to them) to keep you happy and coming back. It's worth a shot.
