Rear end break in?

How soon after installing a new ARB with fresh oil should it be be changed? Does it need to aside from regular maintenance? Thanks.

more to the point, did you use new gears or some used ones? (it makes a diffrence)

No just the ARB and new carrier bearings. Same original gears.

Go 500 miles, driving normal... drain and fill with synthetic..

For the benefit of those who find this later by searching, there will be quite a bit of black stuff when you drain the diff. This is a coating applied to the gears that wears off and not cause for concern.

Yes, but with new gears you want to avoid wheeling, towing, racing, full throttle driving for those 500 miles. As well as drive the inital 25, let it cool, then dont go more than about 100 with out letting it cool....


I also reccomend getting a second mag plug from toyota to go in the fill plug.
