Yeah i finally got the supra for my 7m swap

Picked her up for $500 last night with a "blown transmission"







Yes the first thing i did was remove the targa top and took it for a drive. (tried to at least)

I'm falling in love with the car and now considering trying to fix it.. unless it needs something major then i'm putting the 7m in my trail rig

It will go about 50 feet then the tranny starts to slip then wont go at all, it revvs freely but i get no power to the rear.
So shut it off and start it back up it will go another 50 feet

I know NOTHING about auto trannys so anything at all would be beneficial

 

did you check the fluid?

 

It's got too much... appearantly he was the type that thought if it didnt run right it needed more oil/atf its also got about double on motor oil.

Would too much ATF cause it to act this weird?

 

could be bad clutch packs, or a bad torqu converter.

 

The fluid is supposed to be pink, correct?

Mine looks like motor oil

 

Oh well screw it, back to putting the 7m in the trail rig.

Gonna buy another Supra for a DD but it will definitely be 5 spd turbo. I freakin love this car

 

if its brown and smells burnt its probably burnt up atf, and burnt up clutch packs
