Steering, bad noise when turned fully right, linkage groaning

86 4runner all stock, tires31 10.5 15 (210,000 and I am the only one to ever do anything with it, original shock was my first clue)
Okay first off, I don't know the first thing about the steering linkage. So, here is what happened. I came out of a parking lot, and had to turn the wheel all the way to the right to make the street and then dipping into the gutter the front end made a sound. It was kinda of like a quick groaning sound, not quite a pop, but close. Afterwards it still drove and steered correctly. Near my house I again turned it all the way to the right to see if it was just the steering, as I was on level ground and it did the same only milder, because I expected it and don't want to damage anything.
What do you think the culprit is or could it be a host of problems.

Okay thanks all. That is what the problem was/is. I just got worried, with a sound like that.

BTW I did search, just didn't have the right combo of search terms. Sometimes I try to search and forget the obvious "steering noise", off course It helped more after I stopped searching for stearing.

Anyways found the "old" thread(s) with more links.

Okay so i figured I would post this. After reading the other thread I rubbed some moly grease in there and the noise stopped. I am on a budget so there is more pressing matters to attend too. I will be picking up some groan stoppers or plastic caps in a future time.
Thanks again.
