SDORI and OME lift ?'s

Does anyone have the lift kit from ToyotaParts4U, Part #4RUNNER-OPTION2-GEN2? It has front and rear OME shocks, OME 901 1.5" lift springs and SDORI 1.5" lift BJ spacers.

My question is can you run 33x12.50 tires with this lift with no rubbing issues at all?

Thanks in advance

May be able to fit 33x10.50s on stock wheels with that lift, 33x12.50s and/or wider wheels may require some additional body lift to clear:

With that setup, you'll need to add at least 2" of body lift, if not 3". Wheels have 1" less backspacing that stock, are 3" wider and then the tires 1" wider than a 10.50, so you'll have tires sticking out at least 5" out wider than they are now on each side.

If you plan to take it off road, those wide tires up front will rub on the back of the front wheel wells while turning.

I dont understand fully on why I need a body lift. Right now im at stock height with 31x10.50 tires 10" wide wheels and a 3-3/4 back spacing. I have no rubbing issues other then the time I slammed into a mud hole and drove the left front tire into the fender lol.

But if I lift the truck 1-1/2'' and throw on a 2'' larger diameter tire then I should only have minor if any rubbing right?

Well, 1.5" lift is at normal ride height. When you compress the suspension to the bump stops (assuming you don't change their position) then the new tires will be at exactly the same place as the 31s you have on there now. On the page I posted a link to above there is a writeup on a '94 pickup with similar lift and 33x12.50s on 15x8 wheels, 4-3/4" backspacing and he had severe rubbing (like just pulling in or out of a driveway on pavement) until we added a 1" body lift. Now it still rubs a little off-road, but nothing serious:
and the direct link
- http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/hottoy/west/
and this was with some pretty heavy fender trimming.

But throw the tires on there, if it rubs, trim where they hit, if you can't trim any more, then throw on a body lift.

Ok, I have read all your links and they are filled with some good info. I will lift the truck and buy 32x12.50 or 31x12.50 tires and see how it goes.

On Phil's (Strap 22) old 4Runner he cleared 33x12.50 ProComp X-Terrains w/o a body lift. He used the ball joint spacers & OME t-bars. The rims were 15x8's with 3 3/4" backspacing. Keep in mind that actual tire sizes vary quite a bit. 33's nominal OD can vary from 32-33.5" depending on the brand and style of tire. With the 12.50's I would recommend adding an IFS-Truss.

I will definitly get the truss and BJ spacers. Did Phil have the OME T-bars cranked or at stock adjustment? And if he had them cranked what did he use to lift the rear, OME 901's and spacers?

With the Ball joint spacers I didn't need to crank them more than a couple of turns. I did have to smash the pinch welds and trim the plastic fender liner but other than that they fit fine.

Sweet. Thanks for the info everyone.
Im going to get the OME/SDORI lift kit with OME T-bars and a truss along with the BFG 33x12.50 tires. It should do good offroad, now all I need are some lockers.

Here's a link to 4x4wire.com on the initial build, and yes the rear was 901's and a spacer. Phil will probably chime in, but I think the 25MM T-bars were replaced by 303003 OME T-Bars.

I will check out the ARB lockers. Do you happen to know exactly what lift the spacer was? 1 or 1-1/2? Should I just get LC rear coils instead of the OME 901's and a spacer?

The width matters more than the height. With that rim and back spacing, i'd bet 31x12.50's will rub too. Go with an 8" rim, and over 4", and you'll clear okay.
