power stering

hay,so its my first time posting hear and i need some help with my 91 4runner,about a year ago i noticed a small leak under my 4runner.after some examination i discoverd it was my ps(power steering) gear box leaking oil,within the last 3 months it as gon through about 4 bottls,not bad, but sence im moving a way to school and wont have acces to my tools i need to tie up this losse end,so this is what iv got, a 91 4runner 4x4, v6 3.slow,abs,i have started working on the gear box and i pulled both shafts out one the second shaft there were a spiral set of steel ball barings wich i mistakenly took apart the barrings went every where!!!,ive serch the site and cant seam to find out how to get the berings back in, can any one help me ????? if so i thank you gratly.

Did you fill it with ATF or Power Steering Fluid?

Yep - Dexrpn/Mercon Type III

My experience has been that adding PSF results in a quick death of the pump

that might explain the red fluid in the gear box when i pulled it apart.i didnt know u could do that. i just asumed that power steering resivor required ps fluid

well the gear box leked not the pump, ive replaced the seals on the gear box and now at a stand still with the berings.

Common mistake since it says "POWER STEERING FLUID" in big white letters on the lid - but then you get closer and see it says ATF in the black embossed letters.
