please help (twin sticks)

please help (twin sticks)

i bought a set of twin sticks from trail gear and installed it. well when i put the tranny in 2nd gear it totally hits the new twin stick and pops it in neatural. then it hits 4th gear and theres know way i can even try to get in reverse. so i call up T. G. TECH and they say cut the tranny stick in half (this will solve my problem) well any guys installed the twin stick and what did u do? i dont own a welder and dont really want to cut my stick in half. i have a 85 pickup 3 inch body lift but i dont think thats my problem. please help i hate to buy something and it not work. ill put a pic up if needed.

Single or dual cases? Forward or top shift?

Body lift that tall ain't helping.

Twin sticks on a forward shift case is tight and I think TG specifies different twin sticks for the different tcases, top vs forward. Body lift just exaggerates fitment due to minimal throw. Heat up shifter and bend or cut and reweld.

Body lift should not affect the shifters hitting each other (i.e. they would hit regardless of where the body is) unless of course the shifter was bent to install the body lift. You could try bending the transmission shifter to clear the t-case shifters or bend the t-case shifters to clear the gear shift.

Bend one or the other until the sticks clear. The base of the shift lever is a smaller diameter and easy to bend:

Cold works best, the lower part is set into plastic inside the upper part of the shifter.
