Twin sticks with factory parts?

So I know a bunch of companies sell twin stick kits for our trucks.

But I seem to remember reading about a way to "twin stick" a forward shift transfercase using another stock shifter in the top shift position? Effectively doing it with stock parts....may be crazy tho

The twin stick kits are for running two cases .

Why would you need two sticks for one case. Maybe for the mall crawler bling look ??

The non stock parts come into play because you need a adapter to bolt the second case to the first case .

Then I might have no clue what your trying to ask

Twin sticks can be run on a single case. They are for disconnecting the power being driven to the front driveshaft so you can truly run the vehicle in 2LO without anything up front spinning.

I don't know for sure, but I would think if you took the top off a forward shift transfer case and looked inside, you would see the round shift rails, but no sockets for the shifter to engage with to actually move the rails. The sockets are forward over the transmission in a forward shifter. So, I doubt it would work unless you somehow substituted a shift rail from a top-shifting case.

Don't forget you also have to remove the interlock pin to enable twin-stick shifting.

Yeah like mentioned above twin sticking a stock case is to operate hi and low ranges independent from the 2wd and 4wd, and yeah I'm thinking some machining of shift rails happened.... pretty sure I saw it on pirate lol

Thanks guys I'll probably just end up getting a kit when I go to order my rcvs

Having 2wd low range when a locked front end binds up is nice..
