Red face Newbie in a New World

As the title and my username states, I am in a whole new world haha..come to think of if, I'm not even sure if I'm posting in the right section..I have been around diesel trucks most of my life, but I have always wanted a little toyota truck to play around and hunt in..these little trucks are getting harder to find an I would like to one day get a good deal on one(probably when I return home from military)..so for now I will be searching the threads and trying to gain knowledge along the way so please bear with me..

welcome!

you've come to the right place, most everyone here is passionate about yota's, myself included.

you'll come to love them as well! the search function is your friend, i refer to yotatech just as much as my fsm, cause there is nothing like the experiences of other yota owners.

anyway... welcome again!

thank you! I've always liked them and drove a few, just never owned one..I've got a could I could pick up but they both need motors..I like them because they are little and very functional..it would make a great hunting/scouting truck for me..

Well I've finally done it, I EASed from the Marine Corps, moved back home and bought a cheap 85 yota, previous owner ran it out of oil so it had a knock and was parked out in a cattle pasture in 98. I bought the truck for $250, but when towing it home realized most of the frame had fallen on the trailer..so now I'm stuck with a truck with a good cab and front panels, needs interior work, blown engine that I can build if worth it, and no frame. I need to find a doner truck!
Sorry for the crappy cell pics!

It's a start, a bad start unfortunately, but a start. So, #1 now you have a builder with lots of work ahead, or #2 you have a lot of good sellable parts which could net you enough funds to get a better shape truck w/wo motor. I'd be checking craigslist from the nearest state over if you're having that hard a time. Finally, #3, whether you're a vet or not yet a vet, or whatever the case may be, prior/active service military will almost always be in a 4x4 club in your area. Being military or prior, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if in the club, someone has a lead on a decent rig (Toyota), that they may have their eye on, but pass on to you, as a brother in arms.

Thank you all for the kind words! I have been searching for a frame, I have to check with a guy today. If nothin comes up then I'll probably part it out and hopefully make a little on it and find one with a better frame. I will check FB and around on the forums and see if they have a club in MO.
