Need help with sluggish running 22rte

I bought this 4runner 5spd 4x4 22rte from a guy who blew the head gasket and had the head work already done so all i needed to do was put it back together. I had to put a helicoil in the block because one of the head bolt holes was stripped. got the motor all back together wouldn't run pulled the timing cover off with the head still on adjusted the timing chain to the right spots put it all back together again. i got it running but it runs real sluggish and and shakes the whole car at idle. ive checked the timing 3 times its good ive yet to do a compression test but am going to today. any suggestions will help??

wheres the best/cheap places to get a full gasket set with turbo gaskets and piston rings?

If its not your cam or ignition timing it sounds like you might have a missfire. Have you done a basic ignition tune up? plugs wires rotor and cap? Assuming the engine was put together properly I would stick with the basics....

Not that I have much experience with it but a Holley 350 sounds like a pretty big carb for a 22r... was it running with it before or do other people run this setup? Iam more curious then anything

It will be interesting to see the results of your compression test. I ran one on mine last night and it turned out a couple cylinders were low, not too thrilled about it

are the plug wires in the right order?
was the shaved at all when the head was redone?
is there a mechanical knock when idle is rough?
does the rpm clime smooth?
check for play in the tubo shaft?
post a video of the idle it can help us narrow down the reason.
timing, valves, fuel delivery, spark and emissions all have the possibilty of making this issue.

How did you set the timing? Test jumper installed and did the idle/timing change w/ the jumper install?

Will video tomorrow it has good compression on all cylinders it is giving me a code 11. I adjusted the timing and it's running better but when I push the gas pedal Down it lags a little then goes up and floored it only goes to 4000 rpms.
