Never ran 33's on an older 4runner, but on my 02 tacoma I had to do some minor tub work, more like hammering and cutting

33x12.50s can be made to fit stock... so with a lift, you wont have much issues... i have 33x10.50s stock.

Nice! That's exactly what I did, just a bit of cutting and hammering. My 33's would rub when turning at full lock before I did that

i have a 94 runner. 33 12.50's fit on stock height. the only rub i have is at a hard turn on the UCA's. now i am runnin BJ spacers, and OME 901 coils. obviously still have the rub on the UCA's. have had no problem with damage to the fenders.

^those right there would rub just because of the stock rim w/a 12.5" tire. stock rims have too deep of a backspacing to clear 12.5" tires without some type of mods like a wheel spacer or some cutting of the UCA. since the contact spot of an UCA is a thin piece of metal that touches the sidewall of your tire, it's probably not a good idea to keep things like this since you'd be risking putting a nice slice all the way around the circumference of your sidewall.

with a swamper tire, you'll definitely need new wheels to fit the them on there simply because of the added width from the side lugs. also, a 12.5" tire is recommended on an 8" rim, minimum width. less than 4" backspacing will help too.

They will probably hit in a full turn just due to the 3 stage lug design. My 33x12.50x15 TSl's on a 15x10 wheel hit occasionally on my '94 toyota truck that has a 4" ProComp suspension lift. It only happens when I'm at a full turn and the front is on a hill or in a dip.

Clearance the inner fender and the front mud flaps will have to go. Other than that I think you will be fine unless you do a lot of off-roading in hilly country.

well, like i said, there is a rub on mine, but its only on full turn, which is unhealthy for your steering anyway, so you just dont go that far. plus, it only rubs on the lugs in such a way that there is no cutting action on the tire, simply a rub. ive done some intense wheeling in them in the year that i have had them on, and love the size. but since im not a fan of the risks, even though they are minimal, i intend to readjust when its time.

You guys are forgetting one thing: he's really running a 34" tire. I'd just get some spacers for the front and longer shackles in the rear. 2" would certainly clear those tires. Width is the second issue. Wheels with 3.5" - 4" should work better.

I have 33-12.50 on stock wheels. They rub a little at full lock or full flex, especially in the back. I cranked the t bars up about an inch and have the Downey coils in the back (2.5" lift) I added a 1" body lift and trimmed the lower plastic piece below the bumper a little so the tires could clear while turning. They don't rub too bad, but if I had it to do over again, I'd probably get a 2 inch body lift so it wouldn't rub at all.

How do your TSL's measure width wise? I've heard they're a little on the skinny side for a 12.50.
