Drop drag link help

Ok so I am in the glacially slow process of installing my OME Dakar lift on my 85 4runner.
Got the rears done and am now working on the fronts. I need pictures of how far the balls sit in the sockets of the drag link. I can get them torqued down tight but they dont go all the way to the end. Is this normal? I have pulled it off a number of times, switched ends, etc. If its fine to have it in the channel and not to the very end of it thats fine with me. I can still get the cotter pins in just fine. Also question on the rubber boots on the stock drag link. I noticed the drop one did not come with them. Are they needed? The grease fitting is in the wrong spot to use as is but thats a super simple fix of making a new hole. Thanks to Photocuckit trying to gouge people most of the old build threads with pics of what I think I need to see are gone.

Here's what mine looks like. Seems like it's about the same as yours. It's been working good.

Ok keeping this thread as my trouble shooting thread for my lift install. So drivers side is snugged up and on to the passenger side. So My axle seems to be hanging up on the drop for the passenger side and I cant fit the spring. Is it the torque rod holding it up?

Not sure about that one, sounds like it probably is hanging up on the torque rod. If I remember correctly we disconnected the torque rod, installed the leafs, the re-connected the torque rod. The stock rod is working on my rig, sits not too far from level which is how it is supposed to sit, although it may limit travel somewhat. Here's a related thread:

The stance looks sharp! I've probably only got about an inch of clearance on mine with the wheels pointed straight ahead, seems to get better when they're turned, or with the drivers side wheel in the air.

My drop link has slop and exacerbates the already sketchy bump steer. Needs a Hi steer kit one of these years. But I'm actually only here to tell you that if you see a photocucket link you really want to look at right click, copy, paste in new tab, and delete the "img" from the URL and hit enter. will take you to direct site and you can see the non-Japanese-porn version of it.

Awesome. Will try that. So next up is I get to get this drivable tomorrow. My rear end in my Chevy just let go so she is down till probably after Xmass.

So my drag link is like on top of my leaf spring rebound/anti spreading clips. Can I slightly rotate is so the "S" shape is not perfectly straight up and down and its at an angle? Promise I will get pics sometime.
Having my rig towed to moms. Then stealing her car a driving home tonight. Grabbing my wofes Yukon and throwing the trailer behind it driving 2hrs back to moms and some how loading a locked up truck on my trailer. Good times.

Ok so here are my ics of the drag link. I have not tightened the clamps to keep it from moving. The only time it is close is straight. Then its damn near touching. Can I clock it to towards the drivers tire so I clear the whole time? It only contacts if its perpendicular to the ground.

Ok so I clocked the drag link off to the side and that seemed to eliminate any interference issues with the spring rebound clips. Drove it around my driveway and property and I like it.
Thanks for the help
