Daily driving with dual transfer cases?

Looking at buying a toyota with dual cases. Just wondering how it would be daily driving it.

It shouldn`t be a problem at all as a daily driver.

I'd imagine slow, if you used low range...

if they are set up properly it should not be an issue...you will notice some more gear noise and the duals seem to generate more heat...

Lots of things you can do you should not do.

Mine were hot and noisy and at high speeds blow oil out the breather and make a mess.

I would not have duals in a daily driver personally.

My '85 dual case 4Runner gets DD much of the time and no issues with noise or oil fumes for the most part. I do get a little more heat from them on high speed runs and in just the right conditions of cross wind and speed, I will occasionally get a whiff of gear oil in the cab, but once I finish venting the cases up into the engine compartment, that should be a non-issue.

I use the 2L gear range all the time, though. Handy for parking or getting in and out of tight spots or in stop-n-go traffic.

I have no issues with dual cases other than a bit more noise. I don't blow any oil out. I never had issues with heat. Things are warmer after the drive train lift, but that's not surprising due to the fact the cases sit right next to me in the cab now.

I'd say its fine. Its not going to be a Cadillac on the road, but I assume you know that.
