manually turning off e-locker

manually turning off e-locker
Hello 4runner family. I recently purchased a 1999 4runner with the highlander package, I guess its called the sport edition. It did not come equipped with the elocker, but the previous owner evidentally swapped out the open differential for one with the e-locker on it. So now the e-locker in stuck on and of course the wheels fight themselves in tight turns. There is no harness, computer and button and a mechanic tried to send voltage to the e-locker to turn it off, but to no avail. Does anyone know how to manually turn the e-locker off or can it be done, or will I have to buy another rear end? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
