Could the cyl. heads have been switched by accident on '95 4runner 3vze?

I'm almost done replacing the head gaskets on my 4runner. While assembling the timing parts on the front of the engine, cam cogs and timing belt tensioner, I could not find the correct threaded hole in the head for the timing belt tensioner to screw into. There are 3 holes in the vicinity that it can thread into but to position it incorrectly and the middle one that is right up under the driver side cam cog seems correct but the surface of the cylinder head doesn't seem to be milled to allow it to thread into it.
That is when the though hit me.....is it possible that I accidently switched the heads when bolting them back down? Is the nice machined, threaded hole that I need on the opposite corner of the engine?! Please tell me I didn't just destroy my engine.

You didn't destroy the engine but yes they are on WRONG!! just take them off and swap them around. you will need new head gaskets.

D*MN IT!
Here I am thinking, "sure I've done this before I can bang this out in a week after work."
Here we are 3 weeks later and now I gotta get more gaskets and tear it back down!!!!!!!
This is what will happen when I tell my wife
This is what she will be doing for the next 2 weeks

All kidding aside, thanks wrnchplr
