95 4Runner,new owner rear window switch question...
I just purchased a 95 4Runner SR5 V6 with 167,000 miles. So far it's been an awesome truck but has one little issue. The rear window goes up and down great using the console switch, however when using the gate key switch is does nothing at all. I took the interior cover off to look at the switch, disconnected it and cleaned it out...still nothing. Has anyone else ran into this? If so what was the common issue? Thanks all!

My 91 goes down but not up with the key! Its really annoying having to get back in and turn it on just to role it up. I havnt looked into fixing it yet though.

Well, I have a tester with a light...I put them in the plug going to the key switch and nothing happened. Now I'm pretty mechanically inclined except when it comes to electrical issues. I may have not tested it correctly at all.

A lot of the switches for the rear window make conntections to ground when activated, so a simple test light may not show anything. A volt or ohm meter is a better tool:
