4 cylinder Highlander

Does anyone know if the new 2009 4 cylinder Highlander has enough HP to travel well in the Rocky mountains. I am thinking of buying the Highlander and the 2.7L engine seems to be enough for traveling around town but questioned its performance in mountain terrain.

It will do fine to get you up and down the hills, but if you prefer to lead the pack you will not be happy with the 4 banger.

Long extended climbs-like I70 westbound from Georgetown to the Eisenhower Tunnel at the Continental Divide -will have it panting a bit to catch it's breath.

Just my .02

I had a 22Re way back in my 2nd gen. The newer motors have a lot more ponies and torque.

Save a whale drive a 4 banger
