Locking 4Runner

What lockers will fit 4th Gen except ARB?
Is there any good electric locker available?

None.

Now you can be adventurous and try getting a junk FJ rear with the locker and try and fit that gizmo in there since the rear diff is the same. You would need to jack their rear diff lock ecu for it or make your own. I know the taco's rear diff is not the same so that definitely throws out the idea of using those.

You can also get the detroit lockers I believe but I don't have the part number info off hand.

On a side note: If you're considering adding a locker, I would hold off for awhile. I'd say atleast 6 months minimum. The cost for the install to add lockers are not cheap and if you're seriously considering it, you might as well do the front and rear at the same time and also get aftermarket gears too to help w/ the larger tires. This way you kill two birds with one stone.

GOod luck

If you're considering regearing in the future (or near future) you may want to hold off on the installation as when you add a locker the installation is the same as doing a regear. Just saving you $$ down the line.

How is he going to use the FJ's 8" E-locker in his rear?

Nevermind, RD23, means they have an 8" rear...correct?

Lance, you have RD23 on the rear. How does it work with ATRAC? On a 4Runner ATRAC is always on, so does it interfear with locker? For FJ Toyota made ATRAC OFF button.

It works fine with the ATRAC. The atrac does not recognize any slippage in the rear so no fiddling with anything. Sort of like the best of both worlds.

I am bring this up in the forums since I am looking at options for lockers or LSD in the front of my 4runner. I also want to put a locker in the back at the same time but might put a 2008 or newer taco rear end in it.

Has anyone put a LSD front diff in out of another vehicle? is there a locker that also has LSD out there and not an open diff?
