Finally got a new bumper for my 4th Gen 4rn!

I posted this in a reply in the Offroad forum, but thought I'd put it here to show the masses.

Sorry, I lost some of the pictures of the mounting, but there are few more pictures in my profile.

Well, here it is, courtesy of Demello Offroad (much like Good Time's, with a different mounting and fog light tabs):

Very cool! Was this a custom job or does he plan on producing more? I think on your silver truck it may look better with the silver under the headlights painted black.

First, thanks, it is very cool. Second, it is custom per se, but he will produce more if someone wants one. The only thing that isn't made in house is that dimple dyed frame rail, and when I was there, he had a few still sitting around. He uses the same basic one for his new Tacoma bumpers. So, technically he doesn't have it on his webpage, but he'd more than happily make you one. I think he's made two so far specifically for 4runners, Good Time's and mine. For Tacomas, I have no idea, at least a few because he had two Tacomas sitting at the shop with them on.

Regarding the silver, I never really paid attention to that, but now that you mentioned it, it is going to bother the hell out of me that it isn't black. Good call. Maybe when I have some time and inclination, I'll paint it.

I like it A LOT. Can you move the light up more, or maybe get something smaller and cover then with some type of grill or mesh for prtoection????

Nice. I have to say Demello does some great work. I've had the opportunity to go to his shop and just the trucks that were around were like WHOA!!!!

He has some pretty nice tube-style rear bumpers that match these type of front bumpers that look awesome. Are you gonna get a rear bumper to match?

First, yeah he does great work. This sucker is strong, and didn't weigh all that much. I think 55lbs or so.

As far as the rear goes, I don't think I'm going to get a new rear bumper anytime soon. First off, I'm fine dragging my ass every once in a while, I've done it often, and really my rear bumper only has a few scuffs on it. I know this is bad, but I basically use the spare tire in the rear as a final buffer in the rear. I deflate the spare a bit and it makes for a nice landing when I'm dropping into cracks. Don't try this at home.

The front was way worse, I was scratching it up to all hell, cracked some plastic, and more than a few times had to make bad decisions just to save my front bumper. Now that I got this one, I should just be able to make the best decisions overall and not have to worry about my front bumper crunching into a glob of grey plastic.

Do you mind me asking what it cost installed and how long he had the truck for to install it? You can PM me if you like.

if you don't mind send me a PM too with price, etc. I was hesitant to trade up to a '03+ runner because of its looks, looks fly as hell with the bumper though, by the way, if he were to fab one could it be bolted onto the truck?

The bumpers are bolt on The only thing you need to deal with are the turn signals as they do not get implemented.

The 06+ have the turn signals integrated so no worries but for the 03-05 models, there's some modifying to do.

As Lance pointed out, all these type bumpers are bolt on. He does however bolt them on much more sturdy than the stock bumper, so it isn't JUST using the stock mount points.

As far as my turn signal goes, it is currently zip tied to the side rails until I get motivated to make it to a Pepboys and get a new reflector housing that I can attach to the rails.

Jared, I'm planning to do something different and might be a good time for both of us to collaborate! I'm going to try this one thing out and if it works it might be cool for you to do the same.

Call me anytime so we can talk about it. A bit on the $ side but should be clean I think.
