4th Gen Wheels: Stock or 0-offset

I am going with Revo 265-70-17s after my lift. Does anybody know if these tires on stock wheels will come out to the edge of the fender, or do they still sit in (like the stock tires)? I want my tires to come out to the edge of the fender (or maybe stick out a little). Do I need to buy new 0-offset wheels to make this happen, or will the bigger tires be sufficient?

I was wondering what other wheels will fit the new 4runner? I know jeep wheels would fit my old ranger is there something like that for our new runners? My old tires stuck out, it looked cool but also shot tons of crap on the side of my rig. If you wanted that look I would guess any rims with a bit more off set would get em out.

On the stock wheels the Revos only fill out the wheel well and does not stick out any further than stock tires.

If you want to make it stick out you will have to get different wheels, but I dont know the specs. Maybe Lance or some of the other folks that played with much larger tires can help out. timber725 is looking into new wheels and tires and have donee test fitting lately, maybe he can help.

Thanks Bulldog,

I think I will get some American Racing Victors 17x8 with 0 offset. They look kinda like the stock wheels. Any suggestions on chrome vs. teflon?

ARs are cool wheels. They'll look great on your truck. What color, by the way, is your truck? (may help determine whether chrome or teflon would look better)

Good choice. 0 offset should fill the wheelwell just the way you want. I've got 0 offset with 265/70R17 BFG A/T's and they stick out about 1/2".

I just read in another post that you have a black runner ... I'm not sure the teflon would look very good ...

Even 285s won't flush with the stock rims. You'll need something with less offset (0-10mm offset).

I'm looking into the AR Diamond Back (0 offset) right now. I'd still like the Enkei RTS (12mm offset). I just gotta find a dealer other than america's tire co. to buy the wheels from.

BTW, America Tire's (Discount) sucks when it comes to wheels.

My truck is black. Does everyone agree that chrome would look better than gray (teflon).
Thanks,

Chrome is the only way to go with black in my opinion. I have 285's and got American Racing OutlawII wheels with a 0 offset. They stick out just a hair, but more importantly the tires do not rub on the upper control arm. I would have gone even further with the offset, but A.R. told me they did not make that wheel past 0 offset. I am glad I got the 0 offset, it is perfect.

If you can get black wheels they're the ticket. Simply because black on black looks clean!!! Also black wheels are easier to maintain (no cleaning required). I'm not sure what wheels are available in the 17" trim but some concerns are ppl rubbing on the upper a-arm. Personally I didn't have any problems but that could be due to the fact that I have 16" wheels (16x8, 0 offset, 4.5 backspacing)?!?

I think you'll rub if you have the stock rims on 285s MTR. I had wheels that was (16x8, 5.5" backspacing, 25mm offset) with 285 Dominator AT (not MT) and it cleared the control arm fine.

The problem is the MTR is a little bigger and broader than ATs.
