Zuk mod ?

I've been reading tons of stuff on the zuk mod but I'm unclear of one thing.
My rear sag is on the passenger side. So if I do the zuk mod will I still have the same sag since the rear driver side is higher or will it even things out regardless of both sides being different?
I probably need to just get leaf springs. I'm not looking for any extra lift really. I just want my rear to be even along with the front.

I find it unlikely that sag would be on one side only.

Are there any broken components on that one side?

Possibly a bent frame?

I had another post about my leaf springs before I ran into the zuk mod and another member told me how to measure both sides from the axle to the frame and my measurements were different. So that's how I determined it was the leaf spring sagging on the passenger side.

Ive heard it call the taco lean or gangsta lean, when the rear leans because stuff like the gas tank is on that side and puts more stress on that side.

I have heard of the one side lean on a Taco or Tundra, cant remember which one but normally if there is a sag on the 84-94 trucks and runners, it is equal on both sides from my experience.

Anytime I do the Zuk Mod, I do both sides. Just doing one side, I would bet the other side has sagged more then you think and it would be tilted the opposite way when just doing one side.

I'm sure my frames not bent. I will get under it and look around some more. The p/o didn't do any wheeling in it.
Weird I guess. Maybe I should put some adjustable shackles on for now and if that works then its more than likely a leaf. Hopefully.

I also read on another guy with the same truck about using adjustable shackles. I looked for those at autozone and can't seem to find them.

Adjustable shackles would be a band-aid, not fixing the root cause. Can you swap springs between sides and see if sag follows the passenger side spring?

Man rad4runner that's a killer idea. That way maybe I can squeeze some more time from the damaged one on the driver side, which is lighter on my truck. I might do that. The shackle is definitely a bandaid but I wanna drive this thing and it needs an alignment after I do my wheel bearings. I've done my tie rods and steering damper.

BTW,there have been known issue with leaf springs breaking at exactly same spot on Tacoma's IIRC. A certain fraction of an inch forward of the U-bolts. Could be same issue on yours.

Thanks for info on that too. I'll have to get in there and look closely.

I'd guess the lean is due to gas tank weight. Some vehicles even have different leaf springs on each side to compensate for gas tank weight, but pretty sure our Toyotas do not use this method.

I could see the ZUK mod helping with the sag on that side, but likely will still have some leftover. The coils are not doing 100% of the work, they share the load with the leafs and so if your leaf is saggy then of course there might be some afterward.

You could also do any of the following and then some: pickup a used set of leafs and swap those in. buy brand new leafs like Old Man Emo, Deaver, All Pro, etc. and install those. ZUK coils. Airbags will let you control each side individually as long as you separate the air lines to each one. Air shocks kinda would do the same thing. Add-a-leaf might even help too.

I would not do an adjustable shackle - those are like the ones they sell at parts stores -- scary tall with no bracing in the middle = disaster on the road IMO

Thanks high on pottery. I've been reading around on the shackles and you validated that I won't do that.

Even a shock with a bent shaft could cause a lean.....any of the 4.

Right on Zuk. I just replaced my shocks so that's ruled out. Well my rear shocks. Thanks.
