Why does it die? intake...

I decided to go and clean the TB... Immediately after I took the intake hose off, the engine stalled out. I have cleaned several in the past, but was able to remove the intake tube and spray it out. What stalls the motor out?

The VAFM must be hooked up in order for the engine to work. Most newer engines have a MAF further downline in the intake. It won't run with the TB intake hose off.

Good deal, my old 85 would come off with no problem. Is there any air filter upgrades for this?

you don't mention what engine. if you pull a hose off behind the AFM, you have just introduced a HUUUGE intake leak that your ECU can't compensate for.

Stick with OEM air filters; best protection for the money. The "cold air" intakes are a complete waste of time & money & just let more crap into your engine.

Good deal, I did not know that with the cam and header if I needed to introduce more air. The tube coming out of the air box seems awful restrictive....

There is a "door" in the airbox that's probably more restrictive than the tube... Can't do much about that door unless you go to a different AFM.

That's what I think I am talking about, the arm that comes off and goes into the grill in the front. It just seems to be so restricted going into the grill where there is not a lot of air coming in, plus it's turned down..
