uselss plug in dash
The day before yesterday I was tearing apart the lower dash on my truck to access the radio to install my newer one when a rectangular piece of plastic popped out of its place with a plug on the back that seems to plug into nothing electrical. I didnt follow the wire back all the way considering its not hooked to anything, but I'm just wondering what its for?...Its like an inch to the right of the key ignition hole on my p/u. It sucks now since the thin plastic tabs holding it on broke...and now its just hanging out there...being useless....

Too late! He already did........
(Just messin'.....)
I've always wondered (on my '86 4rnr, anyway) what that little hole with a square opening that's set in the dash on the left hand side above the speaker is for. Maybe it's somewhere to stick your finger instead putting it in your nose?
There's a few "blanks" I've found to be great spots for auxiliary switches. In the trim around the stereo compartment, I put a bypass switch for my rear window. The factory switch placement is just plain prone to gunk. You know.....spilled coffee, Taco Bell, crap like that. Bad place, if you ask me.
