Uninstall aftermarket cd player 94 pickup

(thread title specific enough?, and i did a search and couldn't find anything..)

Ok, though this question makes me sound like a complete retard... I can't seem to find how to take out this (looks to be) aftermarket cd player out of my 94 pickup.

i can get the speakers out.. but i can't find any screws/clips/pieces of trim that i'm able to take off to get this thing out.

the problem is i'm getting no sound at all, and i don't think it's the cd player itself, i think there are some wires loose, cause i get no radio/static/anything... and some one had wired up an extra speaker and just set it behind the seat, so i think in a turn it pulled something loose..

(if this needs to be in the electrical forum then i'm sorry, but it's more of a trim/interior question cause i know how the wiring works.)

I'd guess there are screws going in from the side of the unit to hold it in the bracket. You'll have to get up under the dash (remove the bottom part in front of the shifter) to see them. My a/m Kenwood uses four screws. If anyone wants to remove it, they're going to have a helluva time getting it out.

If there are screws holding it in, yes. It only takes 5 minutes to pull the lower dash.

but i can't tell what's holding it in.. i just know that the trim around the cd player is smaller than the player itself, so its over lapping the cd player and i couldn't get the trim pulled.

ah ha. So you need to pull the trim?

Check here: http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../9instrume.pdf

bottom of page BO-32 shows the screw you need to remove to get the trim panel off.

Follow the PDF file instructions. It is kinda a pain. But, if you do it wrong you might break something or marr it up.

Unless it was installed wrong you have to take the dash all apart.

thank you, i just got it.. i'll be honest that i have nothing to do with the way it looks.. i traded for it as is.. so the credit needs to go to the past owner... but i will be fixing it up, cleaning it up.. and doing a few mods... give it a little tougher of a look as opposed to just a redneck mudslingin look. (i live in atlanta, and am more from a small town in north ga and it's nothing but hillbillies.. i don't want to fit in with them lol)

Well, It could be the deck. The channels may have blown out on it, which will cause no sound to be heard at all. Just dead silence. But, hope its just a loose wire. Thatll be a lot cheaper than having to get a new deck.

yeah, it will.. and i would normally go with a cheapo one, but in this truck.. i would need one that didn't skip in every bump i hit! lol.
