thanks again PHILLY you came to the rescue.lol well after CORAX.. but yeah since there pricey ill just replace the outer with the one i have and call it good. Thats quite a bit for a damn cv axle. Glad i didnt pay that much for it. Im finding that the p.o did a lot of after market work. I know alot about the truck its just i dont look into things until they break then have to find out what parts the po used. Im glad he had a big wallet.

scroll down there called long travel slip yokes.
So it is still custom, since this kit is designed for the driveline, and adapted for your CV. Its still custom anyways, since you have to weld it into your driveline or CV. No one makes the axles and sells them that way.

Its a neat idea and design though.

I Have no clue as to which one is better but i have one of the (custom) axles on passenger side and have never broken it. I went threw three on the drivers side. When i bought the truck the drivers side axle was already broke, so thats why i replaced it the first time with the oem part.
As I said, you've got the stock outer CV, which is the weak link, so beefing up the strongest portion of the shaft does you no good really. I haven't ever heard of a IFS rock crawler. You really don't have to agree with me on this, or evolution for that matter, it's just a fact that U joints act as described. Every used a wobble socket wrench extension, the effect is quit pronounced. Whether it is noticeable to the driver depends on the angle.

No for sure, use what you like, if it does vibrate at the speeds you're going, why not? Just know that IF the outer CV has been upgraded to something as strong as a U joint (they look stock though), then you run the rick of blowing up your front diff. You have 33" tires, to you could be out $200 for a new used 4.88.

I don't strength was really the issue, but rather eliminating binding was...

Anyways, I would still like to see some closer pictures of the slip yoke itself

just make sure that before you reinstall them you have the slip yoke sliding smoothly - make and index mark so they line back up the same way on re-assembly, take it apart, clean out the old grease, clean the splines with steel wool, lube with high pressure marine grade grease and reassemble - if the slip yoke is binding it will cause a side load on the outter CV which could lead to premature wear / failure
