lol, well that was actually bolted to the filter! It was some sort of rice-burner filter with a "heat shroud" on it, but I figured it would work better as a water sheild and it did, and the filter was actually nice, but the intake tube setup was a joke

and it really couldn't have been mod'ed into a snorkel cause the heat shroud around the filter wasn't sealed at the back where it's attached to the filter. I mean I guess you could silicone it up, but eh...

I still have another of these filters brand new in the box floating around somewhere; maybe I'll dig it up during my upcoming move

but aside from that intake setup, LOOK AT HOW DIRTY MY ENGINE BAY WAS!!! OMG THAT'S NASTEY!!!

Sad news from the front but some good as well

First The Good News

I found a way to make my web cam work and record a video of this start up after having to find a web cam and downloading it to my computer so that is a big plus , so now that I have it a downloaded and ready to run I took my laptop and webcam outside to the truck and was getting it all set up to record the action.

Now The Bad News

After getting everything all set up and ready to go I went to the ignition and gave it a crank and after almost 3 hours of charging the battery turned over real slow and started clicking so I guess the battery is still not fully charged so I guess till either way late tonight or tomorrow I am dead in the driveway

No room with the charger clamps on the terminals and besides that I would rather get a full charge on the battery so it is up to snuff when I need it to run correct.

I maybe wrong on this but I know with a Harley battery it does not start charging the battery until the bike is at 55-60 mph it will keep it running but it is also draining it at idle very lightly but still draining it idle does nothing to help charge the battery itself it just keeps things running.

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry but my video from my camrea will not work with my computer for some stupid reason and I don't have a mic for my web cam to post a vid for you guy's that have been following with so much Interest but I am working on that.

IT DID FIRE UP THOUGH AND IT SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD IT NEEDS SOME ADJUSTMENTS BUT IT'S RUNNING , GOT A BACKFIRE OFF AND ON THROUGH THE AIR INTAKE SO I AM WAITING FOR A FRIEND TO COME BY WITH A TIMING LIGHT TO TIME IT AND SEE IF THAT HELPS I WILL TRY TO FIND A MIC AND RECORD A SOUND CLIP FOR YOU AFTER I GET IT TO IDLE AND ALL CORRECTLY SO STAY TUNED.

Bleeder and Eric did you guy's have issue's with idling after your first start up?

I have an issue with mine idling but then again I am on this by myself so it may help if I get some one to help me out and hold it at idle till I can get to the screw and maybe that to will help with the popping through the air intake as well.

Then again this is a whole new monster in here maybe the big valve head and Supra AFM need to get in sync with each other and that could be the reason for the check engine light being on what you guy's think?

it's backfiring through the intake?

ummmm, I think I'd try to put the stock AFM and box back on, just to rule that out...

that's the only problem with doin so many mods at once, lol. if something starts acting funny, it's a PITA to trace why

Congrats!!! I'm glad to hear that she fired up!!! One step closer to hitting the road!!!

Backfire through the intake, I don't think it would be the AFM, more of a timing issue I'd think. But I do agree with Bleeder, toss on the original for now and go from there.

I agree with bleeder in putting the stock system back on for now. The last thing you would want is your motor to run lean especially during the initial break-in procedure
