OK what I figured out so far

1. I set the timing to 8 and it seems to really like that while it idles but it just don't seem to be right with the idle screw , I can turn it either direction and get almost no difference.

2. After turning the idle screw out quite a bit it seems to get a pretty good idle now then i accidentally leaned on the bent rubber tube from the plastic tube to the plenum and it got all kinds of weird so after looking at it there is a good size crack in the last of the factory bends just before the plenum connection and I think it is getting to much air , is the possible?

3. IT SOUNDS GOOD WHEN IT WAS IDLING REASONBLY WELL

4. I need to find one of them tubes so if anyone has one please let me know if I don't get one from the stealership first. I also have my friends wife going to leaned me a mic for my computer so I will be able to make a video for posting I believe.

The one from the afm to the plenum right where the plastic ends and the rubber connects to it then to the plenum connection the big opening

If it's the tube that i'm thinking of then how did you manage to bend that tube?

Wonder how it managed to get a crack on it.

I wish I could help you but those are the only pieces I have no extra's for.

Cover it with some electrical or duct tape for now and pick up that piece at your local junkyard. I'm sure they'd only charge you a few bucks

Those cracks will definitely cause unmetered(and unfiltered) air to get into the engine and make it run badly.

Sweet.. Easy fix I bet...

Now you can put it way below and make it a cold air intake.

Harley dude,

Sorry it took so long for a response, I've been gone since early early Saturday morning.

As for start up, no, I did not have any problems. It started up and ran like it was from the factory. You may want to check the timing on the distributor. It is very EASY to have it off by one tooth. It will idle fine with it a tooth off, but will pop sputter and give you the middle finger when revved up. Don't ask me how I know........ Ha Ha.

And as for that rubber booty, I had the same problem dude! My was also cracked exactly where yours is, and my truck ran like Sheet!! This was before the motor rebuilt, but the thing bucked and sputtered like crazy. I replaced it with one from another Toyota from the junkyard, cost me $2, and I've never had a problem since.

Other than that, congrats on getting the beast going!

I think the hose is my problem when I crank it over by hand all timing marks line up right on the crank to timing guide , the rotor points to 1 on the dist. and once it gets running for a min it starts to smooth right out but we'll see when I put this temp hose on.

I could just be that hose. If that hose was cracked it was letting alot more air into the motor than the ECU thought it was, since it was entering after the AFM. That's what can make it sputter like crazy cause it's going way lean. I'm willing to bet that once you got that new piping on, it'll run crisp!

OK well I should have it all worked tomorrow I believe , my biggest issue is the Supra AFM I think , I got two air flow codes so I will be getting the old AFM and putting it back on.

I talked to a guy at L.C.Engineering and he Say's the Supra is fine with a stock set up but it adds to much air with their head and cam unless I reprogram the ECU and $300 bucks don't seem like a fair trade for a few more maybe (1-3 h.p. from what he Say's) trade off so I maybe selling the SUPRA AFM if any of you guy's are interested let me know I have 1 offer out and waiting to see what happens if he don't take it $65 shipping for it.

OK guy's I got a replacement intake rubber till the new one gets here and here is what she sounds like working almost 100% this is from my web cam and a very cheap mic so the sound quality may not be the best and this is my first time doing a video so here go's

http://s184.photobucket.com/albums/x...ent=085247.flv

OH YA this is the stock AFM on now that I think the big air leak is straight I am going to try the SUPRA AFM and see what I get too , worst case I got to go back to this stock unit right?

that wasn't bad....good job on the video.......now you have to zoom past the camera like BLEEDER for the effect LOL.

are there still adjustments to be made or is this tweaked already?

when will it hit the road?

oh I know, lol

I need to get a make a new video... I've got to do something with these spare wheels and tires in this back yard before I move into my new apartment, cause I can't take them with me... the tires are already half bald, and I think I know someone who wants the rims... but there's enough rubber left to... well... just wait and see

I would do the zoom pass the camera but I only have a web cam and my laptop battery will not charge/run the laptop so I would need a hella long extension cord

Still working on the bugs so no beach trips for me bummer

Hope to have it running and driving by this weekend have to order a new cam the one that came with the L.C.Engineering Pro Street head cam set up is for a 2wd or car that runs in the high rpm range not this big ass 4x4 going to order a ENGNBLDR 268 by Monday get it installed and go from there.
