Simple Turn Signal Question

On the first gen 4Runners, is the marker light next to the headlight, on the corner, is it supposed to blink with the turn signal on?

The marker in the bumper blinks, but does not turn on as a running light with the headlights on. The marker on the corner, next to the headlight turns on as a running light, but does not blink.

nope

top ones by the headlights are just marker/parking/running (whatever you choose to call them ) lights

the bottom ones in the lower valance are just the blinkers

Would the same go for a '94 PU? (I would assume so..) Got it inspected the other day, and they failed it because the those corner lights didn't blink, but the ones in the bumper worked fine.

Whoever failed it, is a bit mentally challenged then.
They obviously didn't know what they were doing, lol.

I just drilled a hole in my markers and put a bulb in the marker for the turn signal.
Now the marker light does double duty.
I hate the ones in the bumper. I'm building a bumper right now, didnt want to have to mess with them

If you put the blinkers in the corner lights, then won't it just have the operating lights on all the time, then with the blinkers it doesn't change much?

Thanks,

Looking at the wiring diagram, that is what it looked like, but it seemed odd when I thought about it. Now I know I don't have a wiring issue.

Thanks guys,

Mike

Almost ahd the same issue with a mechanic. But I told him, "since when are signal lights 2 wire, small spade bulbs?"

His apprentice said "yeah that seems kind of weird, even for an import"
