SAS'd the SwampThing3

Well, I finally decided to get the SAS done on the ST3.0 since I had a full weekend I could actually devote to it, and thought I'd share the before and after. I decided to just use the yota axles I had laying around, and save the tons for another project I've got coming up. But anyways, this is the first job I've got to do in my own garage, so I'm pretty happy that I've apparently got all the tools I need to do most stuff now though I certainly do miss the hydraulic lift...

I didn't take too many during pics since SAS build-up threads are a dime a dozen. Anyhow, I got most of it done. Still have to weld my shock hoops up front and the shock bar in the rear so I can triangulate the rears, get my front driveshaft unstuck (damn long slip shaft is seized like no other), drill holes in one of the rear spring perch to line up the axle a little better, install the dual cases, and figure out why one side of the front is sitting a little higher than the other. Oh, and then drop a twin turbo supra motor and tranny in it that I'm getting from a buddy for $400. Anyways, here's the goods:

Before

During

After

Didn't get stuck, even with no 4wd! Love that aussie locker...

Lol, yeah everyone keeps on telling me that. "Don't take it to the beach", "Now don't go on any slow drives down by the water", etc. Haha, naw I think I've got the destructo-factor under control. Plus, this is to be the GF's "Daily Driver" (though I've already regulated her to the tacoma Lol), so hopefully I'll not get too many wild hairs or flights of fancy.

Shoot, I probably would, but I'm on call this weekend, and won't have a towing rig again till a little later on in the year. Though I'm thinking about taking a week long sabbatical near xmas time. Might see whats popping on the west coast.

Oh yeah, I've got to weld on my rock sliders, weld on the front bumper, and fab up a rear bumper.

And thought I'd add two funny notes. 1.) I almost blew myself the hell up. Got the gas in the hose BOILING when I welded the front spring hanger of the passenger rear. I seriously thought I was about to blow myself and the house up. And 2.) I gave myself a black eye when I was reinstalling the rear driveshaft. Was tightening the driveshaft bolts by the rear 3rd, and the stupid wrench slipped off the bolt and BAM! Hit myself in the left eye with the heel of my hand and wrench.

Got sooo much **** from my buddys. Though everyone gets a laugh when I tell the story and get to the point where I relate how I said "God, I've never been on the receiving side of my punches. No wonder they all fall down... That **** ****ing HURTS!" Lol

Ban count, I have 40 points of infractions. I think I need 100 to get banned.. not that I want to but..

The friend thing.. When I went defacto from yotatech last year I kept getting friend requests on here from people I did not know.. I finally put that in my sig and the friend requests stop
