Yep. Its fine.. untill you screw up and grind the living chit outa the gear

I used to be able to drive to work (35mins at 2am) only using the clutch to start off from my house..

one thing i've always wondered about clutch start cancel. is there a reason why there needs to be a light behind it until you turn the truck off?

to remind you that it is on, this way if you stall the truck you know the clutch is not needed to start it

And on the subject of warming up... I used to pop my TC in neutral and my tranny in 5th (turns the slowest). So when I got out to it, my truck was warm and so was my engine and tranny...

Before, I'd get harder shifting from the thicker fluid until it warned up...

And yes, I am in the "too lazy to get in my truck to push the clutch in" category
I do the same but put it in 2nd gear as that is the gear it doesn not want to shift into untill warm.

I started my truck this morning with the safety button not knowing I had the truck in 1st gear and nearly ran myself over! I wasn't even reallyy in my truck I was standing outside and I reached in and put the key in and cranked it over. Scariest thing ever

Anyone know what that does?
occasionally a passenger notices that and asks me the same thing. my answer is usually:

"don't push that! all hell breaks loose!"

or,

"in an emergency, it blows the top off. yeah, the top, see? it comes off."

it's especially fun with the passengers who are easily confused by the 4Runner's second interior door handle.

for a while my front handle wasn't unlatching, so they'd fail and i'd direct them to "use the other one", which would blow their mind.

anyone else use 4Runner quirks to mess with their friends?
