reverse light switch

Ok guys I have searched and I can not find what I need. I have an 86 truck with a r22 & 5 sod. Trans. I am trying to find the reverse llight switch I have two plugs going to trans. 1 goes to transfer case indicator witch is mounted near my short shifter the other is mounted on the passenger side of the transmission about halfway down from the top of the trans. Is this the reverse light switch?

If there are two wires coming from it, I'd say yes. Though, I thought it'd be higher up on the side....

Pretty sure it's the second one on the tranny. sure way to find out is remove the connector and short out the 2 wires. see if rev lights come on.

Just a thought, if it turns out not to be the switch, you might have the same problem that i had. Turns out a connector had come loose in the wiring for the lights in the back. The plastic wire splices that they used during assembly have a tendancy to come loose. I ended up splicing the wires and it works great now! This seems to be a fairly common problem, but super easy to fix.

Don't be silly! When he slides into a snowbank, he can use 4wd to back out. But w/o a reverse light, he could get rear-ended. Never drive in snow w/o one.
