rear wiper delay

rear wiper delay
Has anyone found a way to put a wiper delay on the rear wiper? This time of year brings some rain with it here in Washington and a delayed wiper would be handy. I don't know if and when such a thing would've been added to the Runners and how difficult it would be to swap into a 1st gen. Would it just be a switch and relay or would the whole system need to be replaced?

Yeah, I know it seems a bit OCD. Honestly I'm impressed someone from Southern Cal knew they had wipers. Even in the rain forest that is Washington I don't use my rear wiper very often I do end up using it. I'm thinking about putting a 12v timer into the system. I don't need a typical delay, every 3-5 seconds. I would rather every 1-2 minutes. I'm going to look into perhaps a digital timer that would allow me to cycle in minute increments. I might have to get creative if it requires constant power to remember the settings. I would probably have to allow it to work continuously and use the switch to connect the path to the motor. Again glad to know you are aware that part exists 😁

Something like this?
It would require some wiring into your existing wiring.

I'm looking into this
Directed Electronics Inc 528T 12v Accessory Pulse Timer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009WP09K..._5F.Tub0TNYDFC
It seems it would give me more options on the delay.

Good point, hadn't thought about that. If the cycle of the stroke back and forth is say two seconds than I could set the timer to power the motor for two seconds every sixty seconds. I sent the seller a question regarding what I'm hoping to accomplish so we'll see what they say.
