az.. you made my morning haha. sorry about the hole in your block tho!

i know a place here in the bay area that still has/makes new blocks for our trucks. I got a new head on my truck about 6 months back.
I don't know if they have a dealer by you but they do deliver, message me if you want their info.

good luck on the engine!

You're Welcome! lol I actually have a warranty from the shop that built it so hopefully they will hold up their end and give me a new motor.

what was the warranty? (year/months, milage)

if the "over heat" markers are broken (small round disks, look like a donut) they'll be glued on the heads and block. if they over heat the middle "pops" out and it tends to void warranties... most shops put them on rebuilds because its "driver abuse" if the engine overheats... (one reason i had to buy a new head where mine where busted... even tho the work done was the reason it ended up over heating.)

but throwing a rod or two deff should be under warranty lol

3yr/100,000 mile warranty. Never overheated, never ran out of oil, one of the freeze plugs was actually leaking coolant, one on the back of the block that was covered by the transmission.

i want so bad to take it apart and look at it but that would void the warranty :/. there is at least 3 rods that are toast, one you can see broke just above the crank, another one (seen in the bottom of the oil pan) is completely disconnected from the crank, and there are huge cracks in another spot on below the last cylinder on the passenger side so I'm assuming that rod is toast also.

kind of nervous about this shops workmanship...

they'll prob do it better second time around, first come back on an engine is an accident. and they don't want to lose more money if you come back in a couple months with a similar problem. also ask for the parts they don't use, broken or not. if they do it right you'll have most of an engine to mess with.

if you just get a block and the broken piston rods back i'd expect it not to last to long.

idk if AZ is as strict as CA about it, but shops are supposed to give you back the used parts if you ask for it.

also I would like to see pictures of the damage once it's apart which like you said would void your warranty if you did that.

I hate it. But I also love it because it's absurd.

Yeah definitely overkill. But looking at the suspension, it was properly built, not cheaped out on. Just a street queen/mall crawler. But definitely not the worst I've seen.

Would it hurt your feelings chef if I said she looked better before the swap. Hope not lol.

I think it's the front bumper that's really different. I knows it's a really popular bumper but I believe they show way to much core support. It's still a badass Runner. Can't wait to see that SA Flex.

Great job on swapping it. Everything looks really good and clean.

Go, Chef go! haha

It looks like it is leaning slightly to the driver side? In the 2nd pic I believe.. Regardless, that is beyond killer Mark!

Thanks a lot guys, and no, Toyota boy, it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all.... even a little.

Core support will be painted black and it will make a huge difference. also, the end corner of the core support, which is red, can be easily cut out and doesn't support anything. I'll work it out. but I love the bumper.

Shocks are Bilstein 5125 I believe. It has been two months since I got them, can't remember.

I'm not sure if I'll be keeping the black wheels or going back to the outlaw 2's. the outlaw 2's will increase the extending of the wheel due to more aggressive back spacing. we're also brushed aluminum so they will work shockingly different than it does now, which I can pretty much know what it will look like.

The lean is due to the high steer.... As you are sitting still, if you turn the wheel it will rise on either side. like as you turn into a parking spot what causes you to turn to the right or left, it will lean. Also my driveway is a pretty odd incline. Sometimes they just lean as they are settling but this is actually spot on if you are headed dead straight and on level ground. I will do a video explaining I'm showing how either side rises as you steer.
