Here's my 88 that I picked up about a month ago, planning on a mild build for a hunting rig/daily driver.

Woohoo! It looks great and so does your truck man! You're putting lights on it, right? I ask, because if you don't already have lights I think that the wide stinger portion inside where the light tabs are.... I mean of course the space between the two upward rising bars, I bet you could put a nice LED light bar on there. Probably 20 inch like I just got! But it looks good with the other type as well. If you do get a light bar like I did I would consider getting the type that has the adjustable left to right tabs that go into a t track. As long as the tabs are within 17 inches apart you can mount them in there and even mount the light upside down so that its not sticking up as high. Just a thought. By the way I am selling those 8 inch DC 150 watt halogen lights with the new KC covers. they are probably close to three times brighter than the ones that I think you got @ the swap meet? I posted them in my classified ad. I actually didn't post them until the other day..... sorry lol

Looks great man! Anytime you want to get another coat on it just run down and grab a can of hammered black and either a mini roller kama which is how I did that one, or an oil base paint brush or possibly even the sponge type. Very easy to throw another coat on there. Also, you can get those end caps at any good hardware store.

Looks great buddy! I think I got the lights mixed up... Sorry. I didn't mean to insult them. They're actually one of the most purchased off road lights out there.. Practical and reasonable. Again, always loving your little R3dRum member! Lol

I know... I went out to get in the truck to leave this morning and it seemed really weird for it to be on my 4Runner... lol

Thanks! I'm looking at a set of 8" Pro Comps to match the ones on the roof. I am considering LED's though... I like the lack of power draw, but I'm not a huge fan of the way they look. Either way, I can't afford either at the moment so I have some time to decide.

I'm probably gonna have to upgrade my alternator since I have 400w on top and the Pro Comps on the guard will add another 260w... haha!

Did you use the Rustoleum Hammered black? I actually have a couple cans in my Garage that look like the same exact color, but I can never be too sure

Thanks! Not having to paint it was nice... It showed up at my door and within 10 minutes I had it on

I've been a fan of these trucks since I was young and my neighbor had one back in the 80's. I've been following this site since I bought my first toyota, (92 two tone 4 banger) a few months back as it needed a lot of work (more rust than truck) I then saw this for sale and bought it as well. I can help you if you want.

p.s. atleast do 4.56's, I went to 4.88's and dont regret it a bit
I may take you up on that...I am going to need more jack stands before I do anything and a good floor jack. All the work I've done so far has been off of one set of stands and bottle jacks.

Someone that works in my office building drives this SUPER clean pickup. It seriously looks brand new.

I park next to them any chance I get. I wonder if she finds it friendly or creepy.
