I can't say enough how much I love this 4Runner and these gorgeous snow wheeling shots.

Here's my 89 1st gen 4runner, 22re, 190k miles, rust, flat rear leaf springs, IFS.
Currently broken down... I was driving home one day and it started making a
rattling sound and was making horrible power. Got home, had the father unit take
a listen, metal clanking...

We removed the valve cover only to find that on cyl #4 the rocker arm broke...
Uncommon right...? While removing everything to replace the rocker arm,
ONE headbolt broke. The very top of it broke off and it was holding
the head and valve assembly onto the block by rust and buildup..
it was an adventure getting off.. still not done getting the head resurfaced
and ordering gaskets... etc

Last of the real cold weather here this morning. I've missed real winter weather since coming back to this area.

Been... 15 years? I think? since this little truck has seen less than high teens for more than a night or two. Ridiculous how terribly underprepared this area is for snow or ice. Terrible. Never seen anywhere just leave their streets un-sanded, and completely trashed. And I've lived in a few dumpy, wintry places. Eugene, you really suck. So do most of your drivers. Springfield, you suck too. Not as bad, though.

yeah it's strange seeing such a large tire on a pretty much stock suspension huh... He's got a thread I believe on how he's clearing those tires. I remember ready it but unsure were I saw it. It's impressive in my eyes but hey I got a buddy running 35's on a completely stock 86 4runner. Absolutely no rub and 100% stock. Next time I see him I will grab some pics. His runner is in show room condition so it's not a DD by any means. It may get driven 2 or 3 times every 2 months lol.
