I think my brother in law has a friend who works for Rough Country and can get me a discount, so it looks like it's a strong candidate. Thanks again for the info!

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since i've posted on here. Been pretty busy getting the s2000 ready for the upcoming track season, but I posted my non-running truck up about 30 pages back... This is it..

I've finally had a bit of time to source out some problems to get it running. It ended up being corroded wires in a connection under the passenger seat that goes to the fuel pump. fixed that, replaced the pump and filter... and now it runs!!

Just had a few questions/concerns:

- The engine sounds pretty loud (whether it's piston slap or valve train, or even the exhaust/header set up on it). I've read places it's somewhat normal... yeah?

Also... Cold start it smokes quite a bit... temperature outside was about high 30's... once i let it run for about 20-30 minutes it seems to calm down a bit...Sinus' are bad at the moment so I can't really smell what it smells like.

Car has about 1/4 tank of old (at least 1 year old fuel) in it... i've also added about a 1/4 tank of 92 oct v-power i had in a racing jug. New oil change, didn't see anything in the oil.

It has sat for over a year until i got it running. It's a new head.. PO was worried the block was cracked or something, but I haven't pulled it apart to inspect... just got it running.

Other questions to all you guys... below i've posted a couple youtube videos one of cold start and one after running... do you hear or see anything wrong?? I'm pretty new to these trucks so i'm not sure what's normal and what's not...

any input would be awesome!!

Thanks ahead for any input/help!

Sounds like severe exhaust leak or timing chain slap. IMO hard to really tell based off video

Yeah, I haven't been under it yet, but I think there's a pretty bad exhaust leak somewhere. Should probably double check timing.

Bruno, start your own thread....you'll get more help that way instead of hijacking this one.

Not my intention to hijack. I apologize. I don't know how to do that tho. I was more hoping a nice guy would help a stranded girl figure something out. sorry again tho.

Go to the 86-95 Trucks and 4Runners section, on the left side of the screen click the blue button that says New Thread. Put in your question with details on the truck and symptoms. People are way more likely to see it.
