Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it all, my family and his are planning on sitting down and talking it out. I have my reasons as to why I believe it's my fault however when you sit in the driver seat of any car, you are accepting responsibility for what happens next. I plan on parting out what I can and then selling the rest to a yard, and yes I would like $2,800 for it but since I feel it is my fault as well, I can't accept it. However, that may change in two days. And keep in mind, he offered to buy me a car in the heat of the moment, his mind may change after it settles in, hopefully not. He said he does not care what his parents say, he will pull the money out of his account and hand it over to me, but we'll see what happens when we all talk about it.

I went through the same thing years ago, friend locked his keys in his truck, borrowed mine and on the way back he rolled it. Good news is that he wasn't hurt bad,and neither was your buddy, you can learn from it and build an even better yota...!

Damn man I am sorry this all has happened. You sound like a very upstanding guy and your friend does as well. I hope everything works out for the best. Years from now you guys will remember this story and probably laugh your ass off over a beer.

Cheers

First-Gens in Catalina Island

Number of vehicles is limited in Catalina. Many people use golf carts. Here's a couple of first-gens I saw yesterday...
Looks like an '87...

Yes, Mark; Pretty! Do you plan to keep your spare in stock location, or you think you might need a swing-away carrier for the new, bigger spare? How's the potential of adding/welding on swing-away carrier to the new bumper?

Nice bumper man. Can't wait to see it on your yota. Wish some of those welds looked better. Kind of surprised to be honest because I know several people on here like their stuff. Love the hammered black.

Well...... VERY happy how it turned out and very glad I chose Hammered Black. .. I really like it!

ADAMS BUMPER FIT SNUG AND RIGHT ON THE MONEY! Thank you Adam and 4xinnovations.com !!!

Whatcha all think?

First, got to pulling what is now Terrys87's mint, nearly brand new, QUALITY, OE bumper and pieces. .....

Got the trailer wiring cleaned up and tucked to prepare for eventual mounting (and that will be another update later on)...

Some trimming....

Size: 3.45 MB

Carefully jacked it up into place after a few up and downs... (had it balanced but just behind the jack dish so it would tilt back, preventing me from needing to pull the gate... The guiding into the frame rails is a lil tricky, but after a few tries you'll get it lined up! .....).......

I ended up using grade 8 - 7/16ths bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts.... I used a flat washer on both sides and lock washer and nut on one side obviously... I will get good picks of how its mounted and at 75# torque I think it's good till I can get it welded... but I want it welded in a way that will not be impossible to undo.... Because I eventually plan to maybe add a tire carrier and Jerry can split swing out..... We will see on that one as I'm not quite sure yet... As I said, I will get better pictures , tomorrow, of how it is mounted through the frame......
