People That Have Done AFM Swap, Question ?.

Oh and I was wondering if the Supra TB has the Idle Air Control Valve mounted underneath it? I also wonder if you'll have to mill the plenum opening to match the TB. If so it might be better to get another plenum and take it to get machined (milled) and hot tanked that way there isn't a risk of getting shavings in the cylinders.

I have an upper intake off of a 90 22RE that has the straight mount plenum and the throttle body has the idle air control valve underneath it, and from what ive read it flows better than the early upper intakes and is said to give a noticable increase in power. Once installed i will post the results.
Guys we might have a small sideline business here. No profit, just for fun.

I've thought about that and am currently working on an aluminum plate to mount to the intake plenum so the Supra mounts sideways. The only issue so far is that you'd have to cut a hole in the hood for the filter and mount a scoop. Some folks don't like to cut sheet metal.
The straight mount plenum is the same for (I believe) 86 and up 22re's. The only issue is that the place where the TB mounts to the plenum is still 54mm where as the 85 Supra TB is 60mm. Let me know what you find out as I can grab intake plenums off of Toys here at the salvage yard and get them milled to fit the Supra TB.

maf = ez mod and killer, but the 85 supra tb was a pain. its a clean install, but it sucks so much air that the vacuum pulls the egr too early so the engine runs poorly from 1500 - 2000 or so. also it doesn't idle up in the morning, so i have to throttle it for a second, then she warms up. my advice is to take the stock tb into a shop and have it bored to the 58mm as others have done. whats 2mm? this wasn't my favorite mod so far. i'm going to wait until i get my exhaust done to determine wether to go back to the stock tb. hmm.

Yes the Supra swap should work on your 95. Depending on what you want to do with the rig (since it's a 2wd) I'd almost advise leaving it stock. If you do the Supra mod then you're going to need to do the exhaust and get a bigger throttle body to gain the most benefits from the mod. It just gets more expensive from here on out.

4" Procomp/Superlift/Rancho 9000x/BudBuilt skids. Downey Header/Magnaflow exhaust, Supra AFM. 315/75R-16 Baja Claws, 4.88's, TrueTrac rear.
Rear disk kit/trans e-brake. Addicted Offroad winch bumper/MM 9000
was cheap?
