Has anyone done a before and after chassis dyno on an AFM swap? I'd like to see some numbers just out of curiosity. I know the MAF conversion made a big difference in the seat of pants feel on mine, but I don't know of any dynos around here to get any hard numbers.

I might be wrong on that but EVERYTHING I read pointed towards the 43110. I've had two of them with that part number and they worked without a hitch. I think I even sold

I can'accesess thasite from wowork, firewall and all that, but if you're confident that the 43150 will work then jump on it and let us know how it goes. It would sure make finding the darn parts a lot easier.
oldharleyman olharleyman not old please don't age sooner the nature

Yes you did and man I got an issue with you about that!

PHYSIC still can't keep 75 on the hills around here in 5th but very happy with the way it respones compaired to the stock one ( I swapped them back to make sure I did not have a issue with the Supra AFM because the e cel ) holy ***** what a difference it was so hard to get the stock one to get me to 65 let alone 75 still have the cel with both AFM's's so I think my i issue is the 02 sensor so I am going to replace that and see if that helps me get that 75 miles per hour up hill

What wiring thing did you do, requiring a tidy up? The '82 afm is plug n play.

Did you go back and check the wires to be sure you didn't cross anything or pull anything apart?

got the amf from the 82 supra 43110, but the tb was not going to work, it had the square tps 3 wire and slider linkage. the guy had about 25 mid-80's supras and i ended up pulling one off of an 84 or 85. round 4 wire tps and the same style of linkage and the same number of vac lines, etc. i think that it is going to install smoothly. i'm not sure that grinding the plenum will be necessary. i'll keep this link informed on the progress. stand by.

Please do keep us updated.

Oh and I was wondering if the Supra TB has the Idle Air Control Valve mounted underneath it? I also wonder if you'll have to mill the plenum opening to match the TB. If so it might be better to get another plenum and take it to get machined (milled) and hot tanked that way there isn't a risk of getting shavings in the cylinders.

it has IACV coolant lines are on the top of the tb. i assume it works the same as the stock one, but i'm thinking about bypassing it. i'm on the fence. i work at a fab shop so machining isn't an issue. see if you can find one just to check it out. the 60mm tb wants to be on the truck so i'm hoping its a good fit.
read somewhere today that the 60mm tb will bolt up without the butterfly binding, but you will still have air restriction if you don't increase the diameter of the hole on the plenum. i think i'll get a plenum donor from the junkyard so i can still drive while i'm fixin'er up. no hurry.

here's the update...maf plugged in and plays. definately better throttle response. i took off my stock tb, man it was filthy behind the valve, and set the supra tb in place. the bolt pattern matches, but you will need to do some ez mods. you will need some sort of backing plate behind the supra tb. if you get one and set it in place you will understand. the configuration is slightly taller at the IAVC (on top). the stock tps will mount up the same, but the "wing nut lookin deal" is 90 degrees out. you can probably use a dremmel to mod the existing one off of the stock tb (carefully). i'm an engineer at a fab shop so i drew one up and laser cut it today out of 18 gauge stainless. did the backing plate too out of 1/4" aluminum. thinking about marketing an install kit...hmmm. more to come.

You got that right. I can pick up the 82 VMAF's probably once or twice a month out here from the pick-n-pull. The 60mm TB's are off of the later models are out there just as often.

I need to start stock piling these things since the VMAF is 26$ and the TB is just over 30$.
