Angry Once again Exhaust Troubles!

Ok Im done dealing with my exhast, it sounds retarded, I have a 16 inch flowmaster on it and it sounds real airy, and the maniold bolts where it meets the exhast piping keep coming loose, and I have a leak in the exhast piping thats about as big as a toothpick, would this make it so damn airy?? Any advice would help.

Get new echaust manifold bolts from Toyota. They have a locking end that is prolly too stretched out on yours. I had the same problem and got new ones. They loosened up once but after one retightening they held. That toothpick hole could cause the "airy" sound, it could also be that you're loosing exhaust at the manifold because your bolts are too loose.

I recently got a new manifold b/c mine was warped and leaking exhaust bad. Exhaust sounded like pure crap until I replaced it. I also gained back a lot of lost power.

What the hell is a 16 inch flowmaster?

Is it a 40, 50, or 60 series?

Also, what size pipe did you run and did you have it welded or did you use pipe clamps?

I had a custom exhaust bent up and welded on my truck at a local shop for $130 and that included a Magnaflow 14" muffler. Maybe you should just take what you have to a shop and get new pipe run...

See I said sixteen inch flowmaster brcause I bought the truck with it on it so I have no idea what series it is, how can you tell, dont worry fixed manifold problem, but how much will a muffler shop weld a tiny hole thats really easy to get to on my exhast? 10 bucks?? Im not sure what size piping it is and its all welded to, even at the cat which I thought was incredibly dumb, I'll check out the size tonight. thanks for your guys help

It's welded because it leaked before, go buy some JB weld if it's that small and gob the hell out of it and you're done.

You ever smell JB weld when it was used on an exhaust?

I put some on an old lawnmower once that had a muffler that wouldn't stay screwed in the block. Believe it or not, the stuff didn't burn up and it held the muffler in for a while, but it would litterally glow red hot and the smell was very bad. It smelled like burning fiberglass or something.

As for how to tell which Flowmaster is which, I don't really think you can once they're out of the box. You can tell if it's a 40 though by the sound it makes, but you'd have to know what you're hearing...

I think it'll be fine for a toothpick size leak, now I don't think I'd try and seal a flange with it.
