Obnoxious squeak

Obnoxious squeak
So, I have an '89 Pickup DLX 4x4 with 181,000 on it. It recently developed an obnoxious squeak in the front end somewhere.
-Rotational and squeaks with each turn of the tire.
-Slight scrape noise almost like a disc on a dust shield, but it might be unrelated.
-Only happens after driving for awhile, and disappears after the truck has sat for a bit or was driven at low speeds. Upon returning to highway speed it'll start up again.
-Most noticeable at low speed/stop/staring when it appears, can't hear it at speeds over 40 due to tire noise.
-Braking doesn't change anything.
I've jacked the truck up and spun the tires after the squeak appears and there's nothing. I've greased the U joints on the front and rear, and I've also changed the wheel bearings but there's no change.
Any ideas? It's driving me nuts and my hearing sucks enough as it is so it's hard for me to really pinpoint anything, let alone a random squeak.

As contrasted with a "comforting" squeak?
While it could be anything, what you describe is EXACTLY the sound the brake-wear indicator on the pads makes. Rather than tempt you to run the pads all the way down to metal-on-metal, modern pads have a metal fin that touches the rotor with about 1mm of pad left. Check all four pads. You can just pull the wheel and look through the "window" in the caliper. (But be careful; if you have a sticky caliper pin (or otherwise) you could have uneven wear, so that you've run the pad all the way down on one side even though they look okay at the "window.")

Spend more time doing and inspecting than suspecting and guessing.
Take it apart inspect thoroughly, and clean. It's not that hard, and doesn't require special tools; just a pair of long nose pliers and screwdriver...
Your pads are worn out. I used OEM from Toyota Parts Deal on front but happy with NAPA non-premium on my rears. I've started getting my parts from NAPA if prices and availability are better than Toyota Parts Deal.

Hmmm.
Replacing those pads certainly won't hurt, but I DON'T think those pads are worn out. The pads with the groove in them (like Rad4Runner's picture) have the groove to within 1mm of the backing plate. So, yes, when that groove is gone there is only 1mm left, and it's time to change the pads. I have seen pads (most commonly for 2wd, but hey?) with no groove at all.
What this means is that cdemery may not be running on the wear indicator, and the cause of his squeak may lie elsewhere. it wouldn't hurt to replace those pads (Rad4Runner's instructions are as good as anyone's, but here's the manual if you're like me: http://web.archive.org/web/201203161...8-4wds1212.pdf ), but I wouldn't be disappointed if the squeak remained.

The pads are aligned correctly, the dark spot you're seeing is a shadow. I looked at the picture and then looked again at the pads because it spooked me as well.
So I'm going to replace the pads and see where that brings me. I didn't have time to get it done today, apparently getting out of the military is a much more time consuming process than joining haha
