Noisy Cabin
Howdy all! After doing a rear end swap on ole Gossamer, the noise level in the truck reduced substantially. Unfortunately now I hear a ton of engine noise, a bit excessive I think. Is this pretty typical for the 2nd gens 4Runmers?

Nothing odd, just typical engine noise, loud acceleration, lots of outside noise, etc. I never noticed it before because I had bad bearings in the back for a while, and it was wicked loud. I swapped out the whole differential because I found a good used one for $150, it was cheaper to swap the whole rear end than to change the bearings, go fig!

My suzuki sidekick was noisy as hell. But I loved the thing. I read a guide where someone created a noise proof barrier in his sidekick. He started by pulling up all the carpet. He then sprayed some of that bed liner in, and topped it with some noise dampening foam, and put the carpet back on. Added about an inch of thickness to the floor, but he said it reduced the outside engine noise to almost nothing.
These sidekicks are waayyy more noisy than the toyotas. Sounded like a lawnmower INSIDE the cab.
