New guy

Just got a 91 pickup 4x4 5 speed regular cab for a daily driver. The one issue I would like to get fixed is the defrost. The heat works and gets hot in the cab but barely blows out the vents, any of them. I can only feel air coming out on high, the rest you can't even tell its on. I'm wondering if the plumbing has come undone and possibly if the switch is bad. Any help is appreciated

If the heat only blows on high i would say you have a resistor or fan switch problem. It soulds like you have a flapper problem if you're not properly blowing out of the selected vents.Try crawling under the dash and manually operating the flaps.hope this helps.Good luck.

Check the open close adjusters, you can unhook them easy and manualy adjust the ducts, if that fix's the issue just reset them too a working spot.
If it doesn't you probably have another issue like the fan is not running or the core/fan is block with stuff.

Looked for just a few min yesterday and the flapper works for the most part but it's like the fan isn't blowing into the ducts. The air is just blowing out everywhere down there. I've not had time to look further into it. And it seems to just work on high, is this the switch?

Do these trucks use different keys for the doors than ignition?

I believe the 89-95 are quite similar and this might help>> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...trucks-286766/

On a 89-95, you disassemble the dash from the passenger side and work over to the drivers side. Starting with your glovebox. Check your resistor for the fan speeds and the little PE Pipe. I have seen it loose or missing. Nice truck and welcome to Yotatech.
