Not sure what you're calling a standard parts cleaner, but ultrasonic cleaners are what a lot of injectors services use to clean them. I also don't know exactly how they work, but they clean by utilizing an electrical charge in whatever cleaning solution you're using. Look'em up on google. They're pretty neat.

I bought the cleaner for other purposes, really, but for $25 (the kit) and then some on Techron cleaner, I come out much cheaper for six injectors to be clean. This is my first time ever doing this, so it'll be a learning experience. It's economics, too, though.

Not quite. I can be there in under two hours. I'm in Washington Cty......Winslow, to be exact. The Mulberry and White River are much closer. I haven't been anywhere in a good while, though.

Jk, really, I'm actually enjoying this, and THANK GOD I have the CRV to drive, in the meantime. I've learned SO MUCH, I've actually impressed a couple people that used to really make me feel stupid! hahaha. I will post more in my thread, I don't want to highjack on hertz, ...cool guy, lol.

Yeah, I admire that, Thook! Hertz, ......LIKE IT, ...LIKE IT VERY MUCH! lol. Actually, before lots of competition, ..used to be a bit more in price, you would wait longer and, ...besides, Hertz, ...they really do them up like NEW! You'll see in the test results, ....I BET you had a cloggy or leaking or BOTH, like I did, ...IN 3 OF THEM! Mine ran fine, got decent mileage, ...but it's far more responsive(especially high end, ..I'm getting up to 90 in it, where as before, 70, MAX!), and it's a bit more economical now, even with the mods that can eat up a lil gas(thought I was eating more gas, ...WAY MORE, ...but I wasn't taking into consideration that I was letting it idle, ....FOR 45 MINUTES AT TIMES, plus, all around town, stomping on it for certain tests....hahaha.... Now, with normal driving, at 30 Miles it's still above the full mark, so I think I'm good!).

SAYIN A PRAYER FOR YA, BUDDY! TAKE IT TO IT! lol. EGR bypass, btw? Eh? Did I miss something? Maybe I just forgot, ....info-overload, haha.

Best wishes, Homie!

Mark

SIMPLY BEAUUUUUUUUUUTIFUL! No wonder you live back-in, Thook! I've been thinking about retiring some day in the Alabama Hills Area, High Sierras. That's my FAVORITE place to be and it's somewhat Central Calif....so I can pop back and visit my kids and grandkids, hehehe.

Thanks, Chef. Me too!

Yeah, there's lots of all that here. I'm not into the hunting or fishing myself, but I like the camping, hiking, rock climbing, and an occasional jaunt in the 4wd.

I'd say 3 days, probably. Last I recall when I went to CA, anyway. One place I'd love to see and stay for a little while is N'thn CA......mainly SF. S'thn is fine....liked it well enough when I was there, but I hear the air up north is magical. Plus, I'd like to see the redwoods. Maybe even sleep in one....

OH YEAH! Trust me, I do most of my great trips through the Sierras and Sequoias(Big redwoods!)....Kings Canyon, etc. Just east of Sacramento, not far, is Auburn, .....one of the most beautiful places around up north!(North American Fork, river, etc.) I like to go for Butterfly Mating season, ...IT'S INSANE!

Love Mammoth and Convict lake, as well, with all the hot springs and 14K FT mountains all around you! It's incredible!

Yeah, I haven't hunted in MANY years, ...but I DO LOVE fishing, mainly trout or bass. Done a bit of Surface Sea Fishing, too, ...love it as well. Nice thing about Cali, ...you can ski in the morning, and be surfing by the afternoon! lol......ALL IN THE WILDERNESS, NO LESS!

Well, Chef.....when my wife and I make to the west coast, maybe you can show us around a bit? I think I'd like that. You come here, we'll show you around. You'll love Eureka Springs. Fair warning, though, we're rather irreverant people.

No warning, Homie! lol.... You're "home" is your "home", regionally as well,...It is I who'd have to adjust/assimilate/BREAK LOOSE(NAH, I'm pretty much a 'light hearted, fun guy', anyhow lol) ...and reverence, for the honest man, is not a constant, .....unless HE THINKS he's perfect! hahaha.

I'D LOVE to get out there, ...just a matter of affording it. However, if, at any time in the next couple years, or whenever, you're able to make it out to Cali for a Chef-Marcus Magical Loop Through California Tour!....well then GREAT, I'd love to! hahaha

Hey guys, Mr. Injector sent the injector test results back today. He states they were not that bad and probably would not have been causing the hesitation. It does however eliminate one more thing! So my hopes are that the EGR vacum is the culprit. I would attach the PDF of the results but I am not quite sure how to. I had a 6% increase in flow in all the injectors except #3 in which I had a 4% increase (after cleaning). Well they are on thier way and will soon be back in service. BTW the Boston Mountains rock! I would love to move there someday. The wife and I spend a lot of free time there.

Well, EGR would atleast be a factor. I hope that's all it was, too.

I love it up here. Especially driving through the Mt. Gaylor pass on down to Mountainburg. One night I had to drive to Mtb'g to pick up a load of chicken from the tiger lady. (She has Riverglen Tiger Refuge. She's on the web). She's a friend of ours and gives us excess from time to time, and sometimes we have to pick up on a moments notice when the weather's warm so it doesn't thaw. Anyway, it was going to storm that night, the storm was on it's way in, and....man!.....it was spectacular driving down there. Lake Fort Smith is on the east side of hwy 71. The clouds over the lake were unlike anything I'd ever seen. Kinda eerie, but so majestic what with the moon still visible. I wish I had the camera on me. Even then, the pics wouldn't have shown enough. Ever see that movie "Something Wicked This Way Comes"? Like that, only not wicked.....lol.

Ever been to White Rock?

Hey Guys! .......Can I come? hahahaha.

Actually, I'm planning a trip, soon, to Upper Peppermint, Sequoia Nat. Forest, north of Lake Isabella about 20 miles(10,000' or so, BEAUTIFUL!) .... I just LOVE the TALL Redwoods, Pines and natural rock slides and dells. SOME OF THE CLEANEST WATER IN THE WORLD, ...that Ice Melt is! Hoping to head over the pass from there, to the 395 and up through Owens Valley(I camp in dunes, on one of the biggest Dry Lakes in the US, where I can see ALMOST ALL of the Sierras--- Mt. Whitney, etc.). Then up to Keough Hot Springs near Bishop, CA, ...then on to Mammoth Hot Lake/Springs(incredibly beautiful), ..then over west to Auburn(north American Fork River....pretty famous for rapids, etc.) . Then south to Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay and Carmel(some good eats, etc.), then end, by heading down to Carpenteria for some beach camping, surf and fellowship with some cool peeps I usually make friends with and COOK UP A FEAST FOR! lol.

PS> OH YEAH< ....Best wishes on the Rig, Hertz! HEHEHE

I am guessing you are going to take the Chefyota on this adventure??? Sounds nice.

Got my stereo hooked up but have a mysterious problem where the sound suddenly shuts off, but the head unit is still on? The only way to get it going again is to pull the 15 amp fuse and then re-install. I think it may be getting hot or something...it is a Sony Xplod. Also got new wipers, one more step to getting it to pass the upcoming inspection!

I cant explain everything now since I am at work, but in short the injectors/reinstalling the EGR vacum line did not work. No change at all....The truck is at the shop...tired of throwing money at a problem that wont go away....

No shame in that, Sir! Praying for an EASY/QUICK FIX! Low labor and "I have this laying around in my garage, you can have it for cheap!" type responses from the Mechanic will not be unwelcome! hahaha.

Best Wishes, Brother,

Mark
