I have the typical rear end sag very badly, I looked all over this forum and found that people were happy with both the moog springs and the airlift 1000 they are similar in price, so which one is really better. Thanks

Moog makes a pretty good that gets stiffer as the load increases. They are also quite easy on the wallet. I'd go with the springs all the way.

 

Thank you I had a similar feeling especially seeing as I can get them at the local O reilly and I don't have to worry about buying them online

 

I've installed the Moog springs and I like them. I had over 1000 lbs in the back of my 4runner recently and the springs only compressed 1.25 inches. I picked mine up from RockAuto.com and they were not very expensive. Airlift is a bandaid and does not address the real problem. Airlifts do have their place say if you were pulling heavy loads and didn't want to bottom out your suspension...but not to fix sag.

 

I would like to see the little 3.0 haul heavy 1000 pound loads all the time, I know it can because I have done it but it was strugling I did not even do the speed limit of 55 LOL

 

93toyrunner....I have been going back and forth with the same decision. I was almost ready to go with the air bags since I saw a bunch of people recomending them on another post.

I have some slight sag on my '91, not as bad as others I've seen, but it's there. The biggest problem is when I tow my boat, the rear drops down big time, looks like it's almost bottomed out.

Didn't want jump right into springs because I didn't want to make the ride real stiff, especially since I am gonna put Bilstein's all around the truck too, plus springs usually lift the rear about an ich or so above stock I think, which is OK I guess.

Thought maybe air bags would be good to regulate the ride for daily driving and then pump it up for pulling the boat. But now I'm leaning back towards doing the springs, just because it just seems like the right fix, I hate putting patches on things, I'd rather do a real fix.

Are the Moog's supposed to be good springs? What do they usually run for the 4Runner's?

 

I looked at the web sites listed by other and after shipping it would cost about $85, I can go to O'Reilly and get them for $87 I will probably go that rout. I was also leaning towards the airbags, just because I like the idea of choosing my ride height, but like mentioned above that does not really fix the problem, plus I know that if is not high enough I can put in a small spacer and know that my new springs will handle it.

31x10.5x15 (both sets in those pictures...now I have a another set of tires - but again they are the same size.)

 

Wow that made a big difference then I can barley fit my hand between my 31x10.50's and my wheel well with no weight
