Good bye rear sag

I picked up my 95 4runner to be my daily driver about a month or so ago...It had some minor issues including the famous rear sag. It looked funny, didn't ride too well and bottomed out when I put anything in the back. I picked up some Moog progressive springs from RockAuto.com and put them in today. ($55 shipped after a $15 rebate.)

I put in $7 4 inch spring spacers until I could get the springs in...they did...well...like a $7 band-aid. Looked better, but still wasn't fixed

Before with 4 inch rubber spacers...

The Moog spring is on the right. It is a bit shorter, but it is a much beefier spring.

Here it is with the new springs installed. I also decided while I had the air tools out to go ahead and take the stock running boards off and give the dirty parts a Krylon quick clean...

With my other set of tires and no weight in the back...

"Good by rear sag"?????? What the heck is my deal with spelling these days? Oh well...no excuse for it...just a product of a NC public education.

looks good. i like the look without the running boards. i took mine off, and what a mud holder they were. i am surprised i did not have rust on the lower front fenders. did the new spring stiffen the ride any?

Actually no...it does not ride stiff at all. And actually, there is about 100 pounds of stuff behind the rear axle in these pictures. I took it out once I got a chance and took it on the highway...rides great. No complaints from me.

Looks nice and level.

I just put some of those "band aid" spacers in my wife's station wagon to help when hauling loads. They did nothing for lift, and atleast one....that I know of....came out the next day on her way home coming down our bumpy rural driveway. I found it in the road the next night coming home from work. Atleast they were cheap....keyword being CHEAP.

Seriously though sweet looking 95 wardriver... you might want to get a set of flaps for the front soon though they will stop a lot of crud from getting thrown up on the front door sills... if the little lady gets her dress/stockings muddy you'll hear about it... don't ask me how I know...
