Can you clean the A/C coil without removing it?
1994 Truck 250k miles. Low air flow from vents. I assume the coil is clogged. Does anyone have an idea of how I might clean it without evacuating the system and removing it from the truck?

I have looked into it and just really dont see a way of doing it without pulling the Evaporator box. This is for 84-88 https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...trucks-286766/ but on a 89-95 you just work from the passenger side over to the drivers side to remove the dash pieces you need out of the way. I think nearly everything is the same for the most part.

You can try but it is going to make a huge mess!!
Go to your local HVAC supplier of your choice get a gallon of coil cleaner depending on the brand some you dilute with water others you use straight.
Quart spray bottle works
Just like most other cleaners spray on let sit wash off with garden hose
Repeat as needed!!!
Like I said big mess if that does not bother you go for it!!!!!!

Well, I am probably just going to leave it be. I might pull the fan and see what I can get to from there. I have read a few places that it could just be the fan is worn out, but is "sounds" like it is turning fast on high, and works in all the speeds. An old Samurai trick is to bore a hole in the air box (above the coil) and sticking a vacuum in there to at least get the leaves and acorns out (you knew samurai owners were cheap right?). Otherwise... it will cool off soon!

I've been wanting to try this for a while. Not too much of an expense if it doesn't work like advertised. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/lb...NTJxoCoiLw_wcB

I just posted a question related to your problem. Got a good response with some videos. One mentions a resistor near the blower you can remove to get an access hole. I am going to look for that on my 94 pickup.
