made a little progress on my build

Did alot of sanding and grinding to remove surface rust and seam sealer. I then applied new seam sealer and used POR-15 on the floor. The process is time consuming, but I think it came out okay.
I'll probably do the rear of the cab and remainder of the firewall next weekend.

First coat = silver:

Second coat = black:

Please explain...

Now that I have this part of the truck done. I can start putting it back together. I'll be using some more POR15 on other parts of the body. For now I'll get the interior done (for the most part).

When I started disassembly I found that the windsheild was leaking very badly on the upper right side, the seam sealer on the right side kick panel gave away to rust, and who ever did the heater core messed up the hoses/tubes and forgot a firewall grommet so coolant was leaking into the cab. All of these problems destroyed the carpet and made removal of the factory sound deadening easy (it just popped off the floor).
So my first order of business was to fix all of the leaks and see that they dont return.
I'll be painting the outside of the kick panels after I remove the seam sealer and rust. I also want to do the engine compartment, but I need the pass. inner fender straightened out first. PO must have hit something.
