i've got some 26mm torsion bars for the front, need to find a way to get some lift in the rear now.

i could buy an add-a-leaf, i'm also thinking some custom shackles or somthing.

anyone got any ideas?

 

the shackles are supposed to be the easiest and cheapest. the leafs require a lot of work and dont rly add much at all. im lookin to add longer shacks too, but i dunno how much lift im gonna get out of them. from what iv seen u can get those rly cheap though.

 

Super cheap would be a block kit, $20 or less, But I dont reccomend blocks over 1 inch

 

a general rule of thumb is for every 2" of shackle you add, you get 1" of lift. you dont have to buy fancy shackles, just some 1/4" steel stock with holes drilled works, thats what im using.

I've always thaught unless you are purchasing greasable shackles thn you are paying for a name and cleanliness of a shackle. There is always a revolver shackle. I haven't seen any madee for toyotas but I'm sure they do.

I agree that shackles are an easy way to go if you can't afford a 3 leaf pack or whole new spring packs.

 

i used rear coil springs from a ford aerostar it kinda looks like

this setup rides nice with tools and junk 250 lb. springs rae cheap at junk yards 91 ford aerostar .
i did have to cut the upper bump stop and beet it in to fit the springs id be carefull not to cut your brake lines [IMG][/IMG]

i have also tried several sets over the last 3 months ilike theas the best

 

I've got an add a leaf, a 1.5" shackle kit and a 2" block lift. In that order and a month or so apart. The add a leaf is the most functional, and I like the shackle more than the block lift. All three makes for a sweet 6 inches or so of rear lift. With a four inch front lift gives it a sweet aggressive stance. Go with shackles if you need a cheap couple inches.

i dont use the hole up top that makes it longer cuz my front lift isn't that big. that extra swinging metal where the longer hole is doesnt hit or rub anything.
