long travel suspension

Lol, that doesn't really apply to long travel IFS kits, there is ether expensive, or REALLY expensive. The only thing with downey's is that they use stock like A-arms and torsion bars, and claim REALLY good flex, but i just can't see it.

in terms of torsions, so does the TC kits unless you get the caddy 2, which allows you to run coil overs. I personally envisioned sway a way torsion bars with the uniball kit, and doestch Tech remote reservoir shocks.

Right, but there are some things that i really like about the Downey kit, like their CV, and balljoints, but there is more that i don't like, namely, not having stronger torsion sockets. If downey's kit was like 1500 out the door, it would be awesome, buts its a little over 2k, and thats not worth it to me with a kit that retains torsion bars, at that point you might as well keep saving for a coil over kit.

my buddy ran the downey kit on his old taco, he wasnt very impressed and was kind of pissed cuz he had to reweld the passenger side A-Arm 3 times in like 2 years. then he sold the truck and bought an F150 with a TC kit already on it. he loved it, would jump it, mud it, take it swimming, etc. now the truck is sold and hes in the army, go figure. lol.

I like what you did with the rear shocks, do you get any tire rub at all? I was thinking of keeping them on the inside of the frame but tub a chunk of the rear cargo area.

Miss read your original post. Sorry. I would run a cage up inside and then put a rubber seals in there to seal holes off from the elements. Might be easier then tubbing the floor. Easier to adjust shocks too.
#75
I was thinking about that, too. Could make a tube crossmember that comes through the floor so the shocks could mount higher and then use a heavy rubber mat of some kind to cover it. Screw it down and have the reservoirs mount inside the truck so that i could adjust them from under the back seat. I was thinking that if i did a cage, I would do an exo-cage so i would not have to make the interior any tighter than it already is.

I forgot to mention that when I was doing google searches on long travel for toyotas and 4runners, Downey did not make it in the top 10 on any inquiries I made through google. That should tell you something.
